ALW Match Report: Jets Tame Roar With Dominant Performance

The Jets would defeat Brisbane Roar 3-0 at No.2 Sportsground, keeping their home record unbeaten in 2025/26.

Brisbane would have the better start out of both sides, with them firmly dominating the opening ten minutes of the match. The Jets would creep their way back into the affair, taking control of the ball and the game.

Melina Ayres opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, after Olivia Page found her in the box with her back to goal. Ayres killed the ball before beating the Roar defender with a brilliant turn, before slotting her effort into the side netting.

Kelli Brown doubled the advantage on the stroke of halftime, as she won and converted a penalty. Kelli got around the defender before being fouled inside the box. Kelli then stepped up and smashed her penalty into the top corner. This was also Kelli’s first goal for the club.

At half-time, the Jets lead 2-0 over Brisbane Roar. The Roar again would come out firing at the start of the half, but would not find a goal to show for their efforts. Tash Prior was immense at the back, including two notable last-ditch tackles to deny Brisbane shots on goal.

India Breier would put the result well beyond doubt with a long-range screamer in the 71st minute. Libby Copus-Brown would take control of a loose ball, before finding Breier on the left flank. India would size up her defender, before unleashing a rocket from deep, catching the Brisbane shot-stopper off guard as she couldn’t hold the effort with the ball spilling into the back of the net.

The Jets would hold strong, sealing a dominant 3-0 result. The A-League Women’s side are back at home on Friday, 19th of December against Melbourne Victory. Tickets are available HERE!
