A clean sweep over North Coast Football and a mass of goals out at Weston marked a happy weekend of football for our junior boys.
Things were tougher for the girls who were up against Sydney Uni, but there were still a few results to smile about.
This is how our Academy sides did over the weekend.
Boys
After last weekend’s washout, the U/12 boys ensured their momentum didn’t falter by cruising to a big 7-0 win over North Coast Football on Saturday afternoon.
That makes it six wins from six starts for the young Jets, who remain in second on the U/13 Boys ladder – only goal difference separates them (+38) and Hamilton (+44).
The U/13 boys moved into the U/14 Boys competition top four after 3-0 win.
Our U/14 boys moved into second spot on the U/15s ladder following a comfortable 4-0 win, while the U/15 boys conceded the first goal of the day in a 4-1 win over the North Coast Football U/16 side.
Over at Weston, the U/16 boys maintained their spot inside the top four of the U/18 after fighting out a 1-1 draw with the Bears.
In the U/20s fixture, the U/18 boys stormed home with an incredible 8-1 win. It could have been even more, though – the Jets missed two penalties at the backend of the second half.

Girls
There were tough assignments all around for our girls sides, who travelled south to take on a strong swag of Sydney University sides in the NPL NSW Women’s competition.
It was extremely tight in the opening match of the morning, with the U/13 Jets going down 1-0 in a hard-fought clash against the U/14s.
Our U/14 girls struck a blow in the following fixture, with Tara Cousins and Mika Marroly scoring to earn a 2-1 win over the Sydney Uni U/15s.
The remaining results weren’t as happy viewing for the Jets – our U/15s side went down 4-1 in the U/17s fixture, while the Sydney Uni Reserve side thumped our own U/17s side 9-0.
In the first grade fixture, our U/19 side went down 4-0 to a dominant Sydney Uni first grade team. Providing some scant consolation for Jets fans was Clare Wheeler, the Jets W-Leauge midfielder who scored one of Uni’s four goals.
