Five weekends throughout the month of June made for a jam-packed schedule for our Academy sides.
Across that hectic calendar, the Newcastle Jets coaching staff identified two youngsters that stood above the rest.
Each featured in the Greater Bank Academy of the Month for July, and for the first time in 2019 we’ve had a second-time winner!
A big congratulations to both Lara Gooch, from our U/14s girls side who claims the award for the second time, and Lachlan West of our U/15s boys!
West has featured in all three of the Greater Bank Teams of the Month so far this season, showcasing some fantastic form for his top-of-the-table U/15s side.
An attacking midfielder by trade, West has been dominating games in the centre of the park and has the stats to match.

He’s bagged 16 goals in 18 matches so far this season, with six of those coming in five games throughout the month of June.
Gooch was the winner of the award back in April and she’s backed it up with another superb month throughout June!
The youngster played four games for her U/14s side, but incredibly backed up five times throughout the month with the U/15s side – who play in the U/17s competition.
She’s something of a utility player, with her versatility across the park making the 14-year-old an invaluable member of her own team and crucial to the U/15s.
Greater Bank have come on board as the Academy Player of the Month sponsor, with both Saffron and Sam awarded a $50 Life Saver account for their fantastic efforts in the month of May.
