Leading the league at home and abroad, minutes in the legs in Sydney and FIFA Women’s World Cup warmups.

Our Westfield W-League side are spread far and wide with winter approaching – but let’s start in the NPL NSW Women’s competition, where our Newcastle Jets U/19s girls are currently sat tenth on the ladder.

Claire Coelho, Tessa Tamplin, Renee Pountney, and Paige Kingston-Hogg are among those in the first-team set-up who are plying their trade for the young Jets side.

They were beaten at the weekend by Manly United with fellow Jet, Sophie Nenadovic, playing a part for the side from the North Shore.

Clare Wheeler, Cortnee Vine, and Teigan Collister have each been seeing consistent gametime for Sydney University, who currently lead the NPL NSW Women’s competition.

All three played in the weekend’s 0-0 draw with Illawarra, which prevented Uni from claiming the outright top spot on the ladder.

Currently sitting in first, albeit in a share of, is Pana Petratos’ Sydney Olympic side; for whom she scored against in the win over NWS Koalas at the weekend.

At the other end of the ladder are North Shore Mariners, with Hannah Brewer playing nine of their 11 games so far this season.

Closer to home, Tara Andrews is currently tearing up the Women’s Premier League competition with 20 goals in seven matches for New Lambton – who top the table after ten rounds.

Cassidy Davis and Jenna Kingsley are continuing to impress for Warners Bay, with 25 goals between them so far in 2019. They currently sit second on the ladder.

Injury has cruelled one Jets’ ambitions in the local competition – Wallsend’s Libby Copus-Brown is set to spend some time on the sideline as she overcomes an ankle injury.

Over in France, Emily van Egmond and Gema Simon have reunited as the pair gear up for the impending FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Across in the United States, the NWSL is in full swing and two Jets are playing a part in their respective teams’ season thus far.

Arin Wright has played in five of Chicago Red Stars six matches so far this season and her side currently sit top of the ladder, while Britt Eckerstrom has kept things in order between the sticks on two occasions for Portland Thorns in 2019.

Larissa Crummer is continuing her recovery from the leg break in January, spending plenty of time at Urban Base Fitness at Gateshead to build strength in order to come back to football fit and firing!
