The Newcastle Jets will face the Central Coast Mariners in what is expected to be a thrilling F3 derby this weekend during Round 9 of the Westfield W-League.
With the Mariners currently sitting at the top of the competition table, this first versus last clash promises to be full of energy as the Jets attempt to claim their first victory of the season.
Despite being out of contention for the finals, the Jets are hoping to end the season on a high note but face a tough road ahead, meeting the top two sides during the final two rounds of the season.
During these two sides- first meeting of Season 2 at Wanderers Oval back in Round 4, although being defeated by their F3 rivals 5-1, the Jets scored their first goal of the season courtesy of Tara Andrews who was upon return from international duty.
After another international stint, Andrews was back again last weekend to face Canberra United during an unbearable heatwave and will be looking to find success again against the Mariners on Friday night.
Friday night-s match will also mark the return of Jets skipper, Hayley Crawford, who was out on suspension as a result of two yellow cards during Round 7.
The Jets will kick off against the Mariners at 5:15pm Friday 27th November at Bluetongue Stadium in a double header with the Hyundai A-League Central Coast Mariners and Perth Glory who will kick off at 8pm. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
