Ben Kennedy and Josh Brillante have been ruled out of Saturday’s trial match against Brisbane Roar in Tamworth due to injury.

Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets players Ben Kennedy and Joshua Brillante have been ruled out of Saturday-s trial match against Brisbane Roar in Tamworth due to injury.

Kennedy will not travel with the team after coming down with a virus and developing some spontaneous swelling in his right knee.

“At this stage we are not sure if the virus is related to the swelling in his knee and he is undergoing tests for this over the next 48 hours,” Jets Physiotherapist Rob Dingle said.

Brillante meanwhile has not yet fully recovered from a hip-flexor injury that also ruled him out of the Young Socceroos tour to Vietnam.

“Josh has been back in modified training with the team over the past week but is still not 100% so he will not be available for the game against Brisbane Roar in Tamworth,” Dingle said.
