The families staying with us are under so much pressure and each have a seriously ill child, having something exciting like a visit from the Newcastle Jets changes everything,” RMHC PR/Events Manager Rohan Bingham said.

Players from the Newcastle Jets recently visited families staying at Ronald McDonald House (RMHC) in Newcastle.

Ryan Griffiths, Ben Kantarovski, Ben Kennedy, Dominic Ritter, Marko Jesic, Josh Mitchell and Michael Bridges had a fantastic time painting murals with the kids, mucking around with the foosball table and generally having fun.

“A highlight in our week at Ronald McDonald House was the Newcastle Jets visit,” RMHC PR/Events Manager Rohan Bingham said.

“The families staying with us are under so much pressure and each have a seriously ill child, having something exciting like a visit from the Newcastle Jets changes everything.

“The visit includes the whole family and everyone talks about it for days later.

It may just be an hour or two of their time but it is so incredibly valuable in the lives of the families staying with us and ee feel incredibly fortunate to have great local sporting teams that care.”

The players enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in the red and blue themed living room, and handed out party bags to the children whilst signing autographs and posing for photographs.

All in all it was a very special afternoon for the players at a very special place.
