In this week-s edition of Jets Insider, Adam Taggart answered questions submitted by the Club-s Members and supporters.
Taggart discusses his goal-scoring form this season, his Socceroos ambitions and his top tips for young strikers.
Mark Flinders asks via email: Is trying to work your way into the frame for selection for the World Cup squad something that is on your mind at the moment?
AT: Not really to be honest. I-m just trying to take it one week at a time and play well for the Jets.
If rewards come from playing well for my Club, that-s great, but if not, it-s only going to make me work harder.
Josh Dimovski asks via email: What do you put your goal scoring form down to this season?
AT: I think getting regular game time week-in, week-out has helped because I-ve been able to get into a bit of a rhythm and get some confidence with my finishing.
Other than that I just put it down to hard work in training and good service from my teammates.
Chris Walsh asks via email: What are some tips you could give a young striker to improve their finishing?
AT: My advice would be to work on all the different aspects of finishing equally – left foot, right foot, different angles, finishing from crosses, headers, one-on-ones and shooting from outside the box.
If you can work on all those different areas, you-ll notice improvements in your all-round striking ability.
I think the biggest thing though is staying composed, staying calm in your mind, but sharp in your movement.
Alice Clarke asks via email: Do you believes in strikers- setting themselves targets for how many goals they want to score in a season?
AT: Personally, I-m trying to score as many goals as I can each game. I-m not too worried about setting targets or anything like that, because at the end of the season, they-ll all add up.
Peter Beavon asks via email: Are you excited to have yourself, Heskey, Griffiths and Carney all on the pitch at the same time?
AT: I-m very, very excited. There-s a lot of firepower in that forward line and for a young player like myself, it will be a great experience to play alongside guys with that talent and skill.
Hopefully we can all link up well and put a few goals in the back of the net.
Lynda Jones asks via email: How is the morale in the squad? Is there still a belief you guys can make the finals?
AT: The morale is good and there-s no point playing if you don-t believe. This squad definitely still has the belief that we can be there when the Finals Series is on and if we can carry that belief onto the pitch, I think we have a good chance.
We-ve shown this year that we-ve been able to get results against big teams, and there-s still a lot of time left in the season, so you can-t rule anything out yet – we-ll be doing our best to make sure we finish in that top six.
@eak33y asks via Twitter: Who-s the most annoying housemate? Chapman or Oxborrow? And does Ox still steal Chappo-s cordial?
AT: They-re both pests, but they both have their girlfriends living with us at the moment so they-re a bit better behaved these days.
It-s a lonely household for me at the moment as the fifth wheel, cooking dinner by myself and things like that.
@Thompson_CAM_10 asks via Twitter: Who would you like to see on the team next year as a playmaker to help you out?
AT: It-d be nice to play alongside Wayne Rooney, but I-m not sure if we can match the contract that he-s just signed with Manchester United.
@Laz3Liam asks via Twitter: G’day @adamtaggart22 Would you prefer 100 duck-sized horses or one horse-sized duck?
AT: I-ve given this a fair bit of thought and to be honest I want one horse-sized duck. How sweet would it be to have a massive, massive duck!? You could probably get it to fly you around to different places as well.
