The Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce the signing of American defender Cannon Clough for the 2022/23 season.
Originally from North Carolina, Clough joins the Jets from Brisbane Roar where she played during the 2021/22 season.
Coach Ash Wilson is happy to have secured Clough’s signature for the upcoming season.
Cannon is an exciting player for us and I’m looking forward to having her join our squad for the upcoming season. Cannon brings experiences from a number of avenues having had a successful college career with the University of North Carolina, strong and successful performances with Lions FC as well as her debut A-League season last year. She is a solid defender that will give us a lot of flexibility in wide areas having so many of the characteristics that reflect not only the vision for how we want to play but also those that resonate with our community values. Her attitude, work ethic, and desire to contribute to our team’s success were important factors in her signing and I’m looking forward to working with her.
Cannon is ecstatic to be joining the Jets for the upcoming campaign.
