QR National has joined with the Newcastle Jets and Newcastle Knights announcing all 16 finalists vying for this year-s QR National Volunteer of the Year award.

The QR National Volunteer Program was launched in March 2012 to recognise the valuable contribution volunteers make to junior rugby league and football clubs throughout the Newcastle and Hunter Valley region.

QR National Managing Director & CEO Lance Hockridge says it-s been great to read the wonderful contributions that people are making to junior sport.

“These volunteers have dedicated countless hours to their clubs with a few surpassing two decades of service – a truly amazing effort and very worthy of recognition.”

The Program nominees demonstrate the vast and varied roles volunteers undertake to support their chosen clubs, from working in the canteen, to setting up the field each week, to raising funds for team uniforms and much more.

In appreciation of their contribution, a commemorative t-shirt and two tickets to a Newcastle Knights or Newcastle Jets home game have been awarded to each and every nominee.

QR National will announce the Volunteer of the Year for each code at upcoming VIP events at which all finalists will be formally recognised.
