Newcastle Jets is pleased to announce the addition of the Club’s reigning Westfield W-League Player of the Year, Cassidy Davis, to its administration team.
Davis, a local junior who also plays and coaches with Warners Bay in the Herald Women’s Premier League, has been appointed on a permanent part-time basis as the Club’s Community Liaison Officer.
In her role Davis will help to implement and maximise the Club’s ‘Jets: Connect’ program which is backed by the Jets’ Major Community Partner, Greater Bank.
Davis is also set to play for the Club’s Westfield W-League team again next season.
Newcastle Jets Chief Executive Officer, Lawrie McKinna, believes Davis is a perfect fit for the position.
“Cassidy has an emerging profile in women’s football in both Newcastle and Australia, but also possesses a down to earth, locally-focused attitude,” McKinna said.
“Prior to her appointment Cassidy had always shown her willingness to get involved with Club promotions and school holiday clinics, which spoke volumes about her character and preparedness to act as an ambassador for the Club in the community,” he said.
Davis said she’s keen to contribute to the Club both on and off the pitch.
“I’m very excited to be a part of a community-focused Club on a professional basis, as well as being a player,” Davis said.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to take the Club’s Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League players out into the community.”
“I look forward to helping Newcastle Jets in any way I can to achieve its goals and move forward in a positive direction,” she said.
