The former England international returns for his second season in the A-League after scoring nine goals for the Jets in 23 appearances during the 2012/13 campaign.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast radio program in England, Heskey said he was looking forward to returning to Australia.
“The weather was nice and the football was great as well, so what more could I ask for,” Heskey said.
“It-s a beautiful country and you can see how fanatical they are about their football, obviously with Manchester United and Liverpool going over there.
“There were 95,000 people at the Liverpool game and I believe if they went to different cities, they would have got the same crowds there as well.”
Heskey has been keeping fit with the help of a personal trainer while spending time with family in England.
The 35-year-old was a special guest at the testimonial match of former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard against Olympiakos at Anfield on Saturday.
