Newcastle continued to pile on the pressure towards Victory’s goal. Lauren Allan also testing Courtney Newbon with a shot on target only four minutes later.
Sarina Bolden was next to go closest when she saw her header from Allan’s cross hit the crossbar in the 12th minute.
The visitors found the back of the net against the run of play when a ball into the box found Rachel Lowe who lashed her shot into the back of the net in the 14th minute.
The Jets responded just short of the interval on the 39th-minute mark when a ball into the box fell to Allan who poked the ball home to make it 1-1.

The Jets rallied and continued to apply the pressure with substitutes Lara Gooch and Melina Ayres leading the attack.
Ayres soon leveled the match up for the home side in the 80th minute when the striker lashed home her shot past Victory keeper Courtney Newbon to make it 2-2.
Just seven minutes later Ayres found the winner when the ball spilled to the striker on the edge of the box as she saw her shot rocket into the back of the net to send the crowd at No.2 Sportsground into raptures.
The Jets had to endure a late scare when goalkeeper Isabel Nino was shown a red card after a scuffle with Victory striker Emily Gielnik. The incident resulted in an A-Leagues debut for local teenager Lily-Rose Dunbar who was subbed into the match.
The Jets held on for the 3-2 win to keep their season alive and push for finals football.
