Newcastle Jets sign New Zealand Midfielder Rebecca Burrows

The Newcastle Jets are delighted to announce the signing of New Zealand midfielder Rebecca Burrows for the 2023/24 A-League Women’s season.

Born in England, Burrows has been playing football since she was five years old. She moved to New Zealand when she was 13 and has represented New Zealand at the Fifa U17 and U20 World Cups.

The New Zealander has won multiple Premierships with Three Kings United and Eastern Suburbs in Auckland. Burrows later went on to play football on a scholarship deal with the University of North Carolina Greensboro before moving to Australia to play for Heidelberg United where she was voted the Players Player of the year for the 2021 season. She then spent the 2022/23 season with fellow A-League side Canberra United.

The central midfielder is determined to show Newcastle Jets fans she has the quality to deliver success.

I feel that I’m ready for the challenge and am excited to make this season as successful as possible for the team.”
