Four Newcastle Jets players have been selected in the final squad for the Young Socceroos- European tour this month.

Josh Brillante, Connor Chapman, Andrew Hoole and Adam Taggart have all been included in head coach Paul Okon-s 26-man squad for the two-week training camp that begins next week.

The squad will set up camp in the Netherlands between May 20 and May 26, during which time they will also play a friendly match against the Netherlands U-21s.

The squad will then travel to Cyprus for a further four days, where they will take on the German U-21s in another friendly match.

The European tour will be each squad member-s final opportunity to impress Okon before he selects his final squad for next month-s FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.

Brillante, Chapman, Hoole and Taggart have spent the past fortnight taking part in a joint Socceroos and Young Socceroos training camp on the Central Coast.

Hoole started and scored for a Socceroos Training XI that defeated New South Wales Premier League side Sydney Olympic 7-2 in a friendly at Belmore Sports Ground on Wednesday night.

Jets CEO Robbie Middleby congratulated the Jets players on their selection in the Young Socceroos squad and wished them the best during their time in Europe.

“It-s a great opportunity for these boys to get experience playing against international opposition and to test themselves against some of the best players in the world in their age group,” Middleby said.

“I-m sure they will all be looking to put their best foot forward to try and cement a spot in the side for the World Cup.”
