Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets Players James Brown and Scott Neville attended a very special fundraising event last Friday to support Wheeling and Able, a local charity organisation that funds mobility equipment, scholarships and holiday respite units for children with disabilities.
‘Go Wheeling- is a charity round-robin wheelchair basketball event involving some of the country-s best athletes and wheelchair athletes.
The event is supported by local businesses and the local community cheered on the teams for a gold coin donation.
Brown and Neville attended the event, and helped to raise funds by drawing the raffle and awarding prize winners, meeting and greeting attendees and generally doing their bit wherever it was needed.
“It was a great night,” Neville said.
“It was a real pleasure to watch the wheelchair basketball competition and to raise funds for such a worthy local cause.”
