The Newcastle Jets are preparing for a tough battle against the Melbourne Heart on Sunday evening at Hunter Stadium.

The Jets are sitting in third position and take on the Heart, who are on the bottom of the A-League ladder.

“I don-t think we-re ever going to take any game lightly because there-s not an easy game anymore in the A-League,” admits assistant coach Craig Deans.

“The Heart have been a little bit unlucky with how they-ve performed so far this year.

“Their front third is dangerous and if they-re given too much time then they can punish you.

“If you look at ladder positions it-s often a false idea of how well or badly someone is travelling.”

Melbourne Heart are set to be buoyed by the expected return of marquee signing Harry Kewell for the Round 7 encounter.

“If Harry-s fit to travel I-d imagine they-d start him,” Deans said.

“That will give the rest of the players a lot of confidence.

“He-s one of the best footballers to ever come out of this country; he-s a very, very good all round player.

“If he does play, it-s going to be a challenge for us. But it-s a challenge that our midfield will look forward to.

“They-ve done it quite well with other players of that type so far this season.”
